1/2009 thru 7/2009:
Coco took a few months off from performing at local venues to go back to school while still performing at private parties
around Orange and San Diego County areas. Summer college courses ended mid-July and now she's back
and will be performing at some cool venues.
9/2008 thru 12/2008 : We've all taken a few months off to do other personal things. I took some website
editing classes and Coco went back to school for a bit. Now that we're back - She will be performing again. No
other news at this time except that Coco-Collette had the opportunity to meet Ashley Paige from "Bikini or Bust".
We'll be back to update for 2009.
5/2008 thru 8/2008:
Now why is everything underlined?- we don't know. Can't get rid of it. Oh Well.....
Anyways,
Coco just finished taking some classes that she needed and also a 3 month program at a fantastic kick-boxing gym in Orange
County - to get in better shape. We are still looking for a producer to provide the final mix to "Virtual Gemini".
Her producer on her first album "I'm Finally Me" is currently focusing on film rather than music. Seems the
music side of producing for small recording studios isn't as lucrative as it used to be. Many independant artists are
now able to do much of the engineering on their own. We hope that when he hears the songs for this 2nd album that he
might consider music again. We can only hope - becuase he is the best. Go to www.abaudio.com. If not in the industry (Coco would hate if she knew I wrote that) - he is certainly the best in Orange County.
1/2008
thru 4/2008 : Coco's
summer private performances were a hit. We appreciate everyone who contacted us to have her perform at their family events
and for all their feedback. You know - she gets a kick out of signing autographs. Yup, autographs.
She always says "You want my what?" cuz she can't believe that they want HER signature. That's the truth
everybody!! People who purchase her CD's ask her to sign them because they say she's going to be famous and that they're
tired of hearing the same blah blah on the radio. I'm not lying here folks. I'm a witness. You know,
Coco will kill me if she knew I was writing what I'm just about to right - but she really is something else live. You
would think she was on stage performing at the Grammy's. She is a professional and makes sure everything is perfect.
She won't even let me touch her Variax. It certainly is a wicked black beauty. I do have to add that she'll let
me carry her (feels like) 300 pound Alesis QS8 though. That's her electric piano for you folks not in the know.
If it wasn't so difficult to make the right, HONEST contact in this industry, I think she would be on that stage right
now. We've made a few good contacts these last few months, but there are a lot of snakes out there - so we're still
trying to get her the attention she deserves----from someone who is who they say that they are. Nameen? I
remind those I contact about the impact that Prince had on Pop music, or Missy Elliot on Rap and Trance music. Mostly
we hear that her product is precise and fantastic but that she's "ahead of her time". What the h*^%% does
that mean???? Ooops. Gotta be nice now. It's just something else to work for someone as talented and as
vocally beautiful as Coco is and who struggles to get a foot in. Anyways, we just keep plugging along.
On a "me" personal
note. We've recieved a few emails lately asking me who I am - because I never talk about me or name myself. Folks,
I really do love being anonomous - so you'll just have to keep wondering. And no, I'm not her.
I work for Coco and do whatever I can
to help her because I believe in her and her music just makes me feel like something else. Something I can't explain.
It's a trip. She can take you wherever you want to go in her lyrics.
This has been
fun. Usually she only lets me write the facts. So, I'm going to tell 1 secret............she
wants him back but is afraid to call. Do you know who that would be? Email us your answer and if you guess
correctly we'll send you 3 CD's for FREE. Her "I'm Finally Me" CD, her Christmas CD "X-Me", and
"Virtual Gemini". She's gonna kill me but this is too much fun. Until next time.....God Bless You.
9/2007
thru 12/2007 : Coco-Collette has taken a
break to go back to school and continue her education. It was a difficult decision - and we applaude her dedication.
She will continue to write more songs to add to her 2nd album "Virtual Gemini" and enough for a third (which has
yet to be named). Her lyrics and imagination continue to amaze us.
Anyways, we'll take a little time off also......see
you back here soon.
2/2007 thru 8/2007 Coco-Collette will be performing at several private parties in Orange County. June is completely booked
but we have available Friday to Sunday dates open for July and August. We've been very busy here since February with
all that other music stuff (we love it though), and other personal issues. Nothing horrible - just things that we all
have to make time to do. Now that they're done - we've got her back out there. We almost have an update coming
soon regarding the producer for her 2nd album - Dito Godwin. We'll keep you posted as usual.
Go to www.myspace.com/musiccococollettegeorge to hear songs from her 2nd album "Virtual Gemin" and don't forget to look at those pictures. We told her
not to do it - 1 of them - but she's the boss.......So, go take a peek. They're really beautiful.
1/2007 Update 2: Coco-Collette will be performing at 2 "It's A Grind" coffe shops in the Long Beach area in February
and March. Click on "Live Show News" page for details.
1/2007 Update 1: Coco-Collette performed at the BBKing Club on the Universal
City Walk on January 24th, 2007 at 6:00PM. Not the greatest of times - just at the end of a work day - and on a
Wednesday even, but it was fun. It was a good show!.
12/2006 Update 3: Coco-Collette will be submitting her "I'm Finally Me" & "X-Me" albums- plus songs
from her 2nd album to a record company in London. No names for you guys just yet.........she says not just yet.
Anyways, We are very excited about this contact. It seems that although
the general public's taste (meaning people who have heard her perform and have PURCHASED her albums) - in the United States
- seem to be below the big record company's radar as far as really knowing the scope of what people want to hear.
This is just our opinion----so don't freak out. There could be many genres that could potentially make millions for
those US record companies if they would take a chance - like many music industry companies are doing and have been doing in
Europe, and all those other places vay over dere. We'll update you as soon as we can.
12/2006 Update 2: "Crazy Like That" placed in the Top 5 of the Electronic/Dance category
in the VH1-Song of the Year songwriting competition for the month of October.
This song will be sent out to VH1's various music resources including recording labels, publishers,
promoters, management groups, - by VH1. This song appears on her "Virtual Gemini"
album.
12/2006
Update 1: We are currently
shopping for a producer to provide the final mix for "Virtual Gemini". We've been
thru two adept producers who unfortunately proved unable to be a fit with her unusual style. Contact has been made
with the re-nowned music producer, Dito Godwin, among a few others. We're just in the talking and 'getting-to-know-you
phase at this time and have not made any decision as to who to go with. We'll keep you posted.
11/2006 Update 1: Coco-Collette's Christmas album "X-Me"
is available now for purchase. "X-Me" can be purchased on this website for $10.00+tax+shipping. You
will be directed to PayPal to complete your purchase. By 3 CD's to recieve a $5.00 gift certificate from StarBucks.
No boring holiday tunes here. Take a moment to hear 2 songs from this album at www.myspace.com/musiccococollettegeorge. - "So, Ho" and "Finerlee". We hope you enjoy what you hear.
10/2006 Update 1: Coco-Collette will not be performing in October thru December
in order to complete work on her Christmas album ("X-Me") and her 2nd album ("Virtual
Gemini")
9/2006 Update 3: Coco-Collette's
music will be presented at this years Midem & Popkomm. This is a great opportunity for any artist striving to attract
the attention of execs in the music industry. Jan Cooper from Nextposure in Canada heard about her and checked her out
on SonicBids & MySpace. After checking out her music and video- she was chosen as 1 of 5 artists that they will
be presenting at PopKomm this year. Coco-Collette's 2nd album (which is in the works right now) has a dash of French
in several of the songs (here and there) giving the album an energetic European/Pop feel.
9/2006
Update 2: We had a great
show at the BBKing Club. Thank you to everybody who showed up. It was a full house that evening and the audience
respondedly loudly after every song. It couldn't have been better.
9/2006 Update 1: Coco-Collette will be performing at the BBKing Club on the Universal
City Walk on 9/24/06 @ 5:00PM. Under 21 until 10:00PM. Come and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and good music.
Door is $10.00. Thank God they're still cheap to get in.
8/2006
Update : "Life With You
Is Like" & "Not Coming For Me" has earned Coco-Collette a Top Songwriter award from the VH1 Songwriting
Competition.
7/2006 Update 2: Coco-Collette
has just redone "Bang A Gong" by T-Rex. Very sexy.....yup. She has also just remade "I Heard It
Thru The Grapevine" in her own distinctive fashion. This song was originally written by Norman Whitfield &
Barrett Strong. Her version is in French and English. Both songs have been a hit during her live performances.
Ooh La La!
7/2006 Update 1: The
video is finally finished!!!!.........It will be up on YouTube.com & SonicBids.com in the next few days. Thanks
again have to be extended to the crew in Missouri for a job well done..
6/2006 Update 3: Coco-Collette's music from her "I'm Finally Me" album AND
new music will be featured on KTST-FM - 98.5 on your INTERNET radio dial - on July 8th at 5:30PM.
Brought to you by "Doc Tremor" show. Check it out at www.ktstfm.com.
6/2006 Update 2: Coco-Collette has been awarded the "Suggested Artist"
award for the month of April by VH1's Song Of The Year Contest (which was announced this month). The
placing songs were "Just A Little Thing" & "News Is Twisted". Congrats!
6/2006 Update 1: Well,
she's back! Big smile on our little girl's face. She couldn't stop talking about Missouri. So guess what
she did? Wrote her 2nd Country song ("Life With You Is Like....").
Lordy girl, if that's Country then we're all gonna ditch our laptops and latte's and pickup some Cowboy boots. Take
a listen. It's got Country, Jazz, and Pop, and Hot in it.
We want to extend our thanks to the fabulous Missouri video/audio crew and family
that spent time, talent and effort on organizing everything.
Thanks also to those truckers
who cheered her on and who got an eyeful during filming. Gentlemen...all of them. Missouri is green and beautiful
for miles. Hot enough to fry a tick on a........ Don't know how to end that but you get my drift.
It will take about 1 month to get all the tapes edited and put together so keep
checking back for more updates and the video.
5/2006
Update 3: Well, she's off! We wish her a safe flight and a fun trip. She's
on her way to Springfield, MO to shoot two videos.
We'll
be here when you get back, little girl.
Bye everybody. We'll be back when she gets back
and we will be uploading the videos on www.youtube.com. Have a wonderful Memorial Day! 5/2006
Update 2: We had a great show (5/20/06) at the American Cancer Society 2006 Relay.
Coco-Collette performed some tunes from her album and cover songs including "Stuck In The Middle With You" and "You
Never Can Tell". The audience wanted to hear "Stuck In The Middle With You" again before she
could start the next song. We had little kids, teen-agers, parents, and grand-parents dancing in their seats and singing
along. "Hey Boy (Geeky)" and "Night Fall" brought the crowd in around the stage from other parts
of the field. As Coco-Collette thanked the audience, the MC asked her if she would consider singing some more......the
audience applauded.....and of course Coco-Collette did what she had to-----to the delight of the audience. It was a
great night.
Good girl!
5/2006
Update 1: We have uploaded a new song from her 2nd album for you to listen to. Check
out "News Is Twisted". How does she come up with those lyrics? We still can't figure
it out. Anyways, you've got to hear it - no joke.
4/2006
Update 2: Well, we're back. We've been working on more promotion for Coco-Collette's music
and talent. We have finally made arrangements to fly to Missouri on May 26th thru May 28th to shoot her "Hey
Boy (Geeky)" and "Let Me Keep On Walking" video. It took a while to co-ordinate
everything - but it's finally a done deal. If you're wondering why Missouri and not, lets say, L.A. or New York.
The reason is that there is a fantastic video and audio company in Missouri that has expressed an interest in shooting her
video, and we couldn't be more pleased. In our opinion, they are absolutely the best. We are planning to
submit these videoes to Disney since a video is part of their audition requirement. We could have shot one here
as good as we could have done it - but Coco-Collette refuses to submit an amateurish video. We agree. First impressions
only happen once.
We want to thank Carmine Pascuzzi from Media Search (Music, Film, & Fashion in Australia) for
his excellent words. Check out their other artist reviews.
:: Coco-Collette
George - I'm Finally Me
"Coco-Collette George is
one of these invigorating singer-songwriters I often come across through the global phenomenon that is the Internet. Because
of the nature of our website and associated networking, it is a pleasure to receive news of new artists. Upon hearing Coco‘s
emotional, yet zippy method of expressing her thoughts, the listener should be blessed in hearing a versatile performer that
is most appealing. The gorgeous melodies and harmonies are delicate and concise in the delivery, appearing heavenly in parts.
Coco writes all the songs and arranged/co-produced this album. She is also multi-talented in playing piano, guitar, French
Horn, violin, trumpet and banjo, amongst others. With a French speaking background, there is that extra exotic touch to the
way she expresses her feelings. A couple of tracks to note are 'Chat Indien’, sung beautifully in French and the remake
of the Eurythmics song 'Sweet Dreams, stamped with Coco's individual style. The other tracks showcase her versatility, with
elements of dance, jazz, pop and even country. The tuneful, fresh vocals, the attractive looks, and adept musicianship makes
Coco-Collette George a strking artist that we should a lot more about in the future."
3/2006 Update 1: This is an update for a prior announcement: "MTV"
Network (Remote Productions, Inc.) has requested licensing permission for ALL 12 songs that are on the "I'm
Finally Me" album. They are also interested in licensing the following songs which will be on her next compilation
CD and next single:
"So, Ho" (X-Mas Single)
"Georgia Train (X-Mas Instrumental)"
"Slow
For Me"
"Memories To Celebrate"
2/2006 Update 1: We've
added "Slow For Me". You can listen to it by clicking on the next page. We're still going strong
on radio play. We've received quite a few emails asking about Coco-Collette's live show performances. Be patient
everybody- it's coming real soon.
1/2006
Update 4: Interested in listening to a new and fun podcast? You can check out The Mike and Karrie Podcast Show at www.mikeandkarrie.com. They have good easy-going conversation and play some very good music. No crazy, heavy conversation that
you have to wrap your brain around. Just easy-funny listening. Check it out. You can hear a portion of Coco-Collette's
new song, "Slow For Me", there right now. Just check out their 1/27/06 podcast to hear it
for yourself. We work here but can't stop listening
to that new song. "Gee-Wiz Coco, Are you trying to give us a group heart attack?" She combined
French and English in this song and it's taking out breath away. If we didn't have an imagination before we sointenly
(the way the Three Stooges would say it)have one now. Well boys and girls, we are trying to figure
out what the song is about, but she won't tell us. The deal is that we have to figure it out ourselves. The person
who does gets $25 bucks. She won't give any hints because she said that the hint will give it away. After
protesting we finally got this little tid-bit from our girl - "Guys need to pay more attention".
That's all we got from our lovely singer/songwriter. Alas, we can't stay mad at her because she's so pretty. I
guess we'll have to listen to it over and over again. Sheesh, we can do that. We think we've already got it figured
out because it's pretty clear, but we've decided to wait a bit, listen to it as much as possible (cuz it's so hot), then turn
in our answers to her no later than February 14th. Valentines Day!. We might put it up on this website after we
win this sweet competition. Thanks for reading all this. We didn't mean to go long.
NOTE: Please make it a point to listen to songs from BBKing with Van Morrison and
Annie Lennox on their show. BBKing is having a B.B.King 80th Birthday Tour in February 2006.
Here's the Ticket Master link for tickets to his up-coming shows: www.ticketmaster.com/artist/769912. We couldn't find any information online regarding Annie Lennox concerts at this time,
but she's got fabulous music out there for you to listen to. 1/2006
Update 3: Going back to KQCR-FM's weekend promotion of Coco-Collette's album went well, well, well,
well. We couldn't hear the broadcast in California because it was going on in Iowa. We're still thrilled.
Men can get thrilled, right? Yeah, so we are thrilled for her.
1/2006 Update 2: As of 1/10/06, "Hey Boy (Geeky)", after
6 weeks of air play, has moved up from #33 to #29 on the Top40 Main Chart per New
Music Weekly. KQCR-FM in Iowa will be having an "I'm
Finally Me" CD weekend giveaway. For your point of reference, we are writing this update on 1/21/06.
We anticipate this giveaway to be scheduled for the weekend of 1/28-1/29 or the weekend thereafter. That's all the information
we have on that at this point. There has been good response to this song on various radio stations. This is how it starts. In order to be played on the Primary radio stations throughout the U.S. you first have
to test plays and responses on the Secondary radio stations. This is so that the Primary radio stations are not inundated
with music that don't receive positive public response and therefore have to be dropped. So, we appreciate the
Secondary radio stations very much. If you can make it through them - you're on your way. Since this
particular promotion is focused on radio air-play - this is a little explanation as to how it works.
The music media firm (Media Search)from Australia that we mentioned last week will be reviewing
her CD and providing a write-up. Initial review and comments were excellent. That's what were looking for.
You can check them out at www.mediasearch.com.au/. Let's see, what other news do we have? Let's
not forget to mention that so far "Hey Boy (Geeky), "Boy, You've Got Something",
and "I'm Something Cool" have made it through the 1st round of judging in the International
Song Writing Competition. 1st round judging is still continuing at this time. The public will be able
to vote online for their favorite finalist, so VOTE, VOTE,
VOTE. So in February just go to www.songwritingcompetition.com, listen to songs from very talented artists and cast your vote. Your vote is very important because it will count!! 1/2006 Update 1: Promotion for her
"I'm Finally Me" album is (and has been) in full-swing! We are very excited to announce that industry
response has been exceptionally positive.
Her attorney/agent has just presented her to several well known record companies. Name one - and I'm sure
that you'll guess right. Nothing definitive as of right now because it's only just a bit after Christmas
and New Years Day. We've learned that most music industry people are seriously on vacation between those two holidays.
Must be nice.
Calls regarding her album have come from as far away as Australia.
A music media firm in Australia has expressed interest. We expect more communication with them by next week (1/9-1/15).
We'll keep you posted.
We have also just recently (January 4th, 2006
to be exact) been approached by an incredibly well known music television station. Can you guess which one?
.........You've guessed it. It's MTV!!!!!!
Yes, it's the real deal. That MTV that we all know and love on cable everyday and every night. They have expressed an
interest in possibly using one or more of her songs for their weekly "My Super Sweet Sixteen" show. We will
certainly keep you posted on this as well.
We've got more news for you -
but we'll update next week. It's getting late-so we gotta go.
12/2005 Update 4: A fabulous Visual
& Audio Media studio is currently working on a video for her hot song - "Hey Boy (Geeky)" .
We will have this video up on this website as soon as it is completed. Completion is expected within the
next few weeks.
12/2005 Update 3: Coco-Collette is currently
working on her 2nd ablum and her "Honor" single featuring "Memories To Celebrate".
Alot of hot songs cominatcha soon.
12/2005 Update 2: Radio play statistics for
"Hey Boy (Geeky)" can be found in New Music Weekly.
For those who don't know - this is a trade magazine for radio stations, record companies, and for those who need-to-know
in the music industry to refer to.
